A man survived 18 days with no food or water just by licking his prison walls!

Andreas Mihavecz was a passenger in a car crash. The police took him and put him in a holding cell. Then they forgot all about him! For 18 days no one came by his cell to check on him. The guards later said that they thought some other guard had released him.

The way he survived for those 18 days without having food or water was by licking the moisture off of his prison walls. This gave him just enough nutrients not to die. However, it wasn't enough to prevent him from losing 53lbs of body weight! The police that held him were fined 2000EUR each and he was awarded 19,000 EUR for his trouble.
